You pick the musician. We handle the rest.
Here's exactly how Emergency Musician works, from posting your first request to the last song of your service.
Five steps to a covered Sunday
Post your request
Date, call time, end time, the position you need filled, and what the musician should bring.
Review who applies
Vetted musicians in your area apply. Compare their profiles and ratings.
Choose and approve
Nothing is locked in until you approve it.
Confirm details and songs
Double-check call time, end time, and what to bring. Connect Planning Center and we'll send your set to the musician, or add songs manually.
Worship
Your musician shows up prepared. We've already handled the payment, the paperwork, and every detail in between.
Two things on your list.Everything else is on ours.
you do
- Choose your musician
- Confirm the details and songs
That's the whole list.
we do
- Pay the musician, so there are no invoices, Venmo requests, or checks from you
- Collect the musician's W-9 and handle 1099 tax reporting
- Send your songs and service details to the musician
- Make sure your positions are filled and your musician is scheduled and ready
- Hold the musician accountable to call time and end time
- Handle cancellations and help find a replacement
- Manage the musician from booking to the last song
One price, nothing extra
The price you see is the price you pay.
EM's service fee is built into the musician's rate. No separate invoice, no surprise charges.
The musician never bills you. One payment, handled where the booking lives.
Vetting, scheduling, payment, tax paperwork, song delivery, accountability, and support.
Do I need the musician's W-9?
No. Musicians are independent contractors paid by EM, so all of their tax paperwork runs through us, not your church.
Several applicants is a good problem
Getting multiple applicants is a good thing. Here's how to choose with confidence.
We've already planned for it
Your musician cancels
We cancel the booking, let you know, and can post a new request on your behalf to find a replacement.
Your musician doesn't show
Call our emergency line right away. Depending on how much time is left before call time, we'll work to find someone else.
Your musician is late
More than 30 minutes after call time and a Late Arrival Adjustment applies. The missed time comes off the musician's pay and off your total.
After every service, you can rate your musician or report a problem. We follow up on every report.
The app is your protection
Real people on your booking
